The STARS team would like to invite SENCos and Lead Practitioners to attend a FREE workshop to help settings improve transitions for young people with autism.

These workshops will provide staff with best practice guidance as well as practical strategies, advice and recommendations. For academic year 2021/2022 these workshops will be delivered virtually using Zoom and can be booked on Leeds for Learning.at Training & Events | Leeds for Learning

The STARS team are currently operating a long waiting list, with a huge increase in referrals. However, with no extra capacity we are using innovative ways of offering support. Offering these free workshops is one of the ways we hope we can help as we may not be able to deliver in-setting support for individual referrals in the timeframe we would hope.

We urge you to attend these free workshops (as applicable to your setting) to ensure you know what the best practice is as we may not be able to give direct support for all young people prior to the transition to the next educational setting.

If you have made a direct referral to STARS and feel that the transition workshop will meet your needs in supporting this young person, please notify us that an individual referral is no longer necessary.  If you feel you require direct support then we will keep your referral on the waiting list, but it may be a while before an Opening Meeting can be scheduled.
